Overview

Sambal Bakar Malaya • Puncak Alam stands out as a vibrant Malaysian restaurant nestled in the heart of Selangor. Located at Eco Grandeur, it offers both locals and visitors a flavorful gateway into traditional sambal-centric dishes crafted with regional authenticity. The eatery’s spacious layout readily accommodates its bustling crowd, a notable improvement from the original KL branch, providing a comfortable setting for family gatherings or casual dining.

The menu is a celebration of Malaysian flavors, with standout dishes like Sotong Goreng Tepung, Indomee Ayam Goreng, and Siakap Sambal showcasing a masterful balance between spice, texture, and aroma. Each plate emphasizes the sambal, a quintessential chili-based condiment that ignites the palate with varying levels of heat. For spice enthusiasts, the ‘sambal gempuk’ is a must-try, delivering a rich, robust kick that complements the crispy fried squid and tender chicken perfectly. Meanwhile, those preferring milder tastes can opt for options like the sambal healing, which offers a subtle sweetness without compromising its flavorful essence.

Beyond the mains, the restaurant’s add-on selections such as crispy chicken, sambal ikan keli, and tempe enhance the meal experience, providing additional textures and tastes that reflect Malaysian culinary heritage. The Indomie sets—combinations of noodles with sambal and sides like tauhu and tempe—are ideal for those seeking a hearty, convenient option infused with bold flavors.

The experience at Sambal Bakar Malaya is shaped not only by its food but by its welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff. Guests often note the warm smiles and friendly service that create an inviting ambiance. Though the weekend rush can affect service speed, the energetic staff rise to the occasion, making visits memorable. The location’s accessibility in Puncak Alam, paired with its modern yet cozy space, makes it suitable for families, food adventurers, and local patrons seeking authentic Malaysian sambal dishes.

Drinks like Teh O Ais and Sirap Ais offer refreshing contrasts to the spicy fare, balancing the meal with cool sweetness. Overall, Sambal Bakar Malaya • Puncak Alam is a commendable destination for those craving genuine Malay flavors, rich sambal varieties, and a relaxed dining environment that feels like home – all within a thriving community space.

My wife and I had bakso and set nasi sotong for dinner. The bakso was ample. The meatballs were chewy - the taste of beef was quite strong. Very soupy I would say, but delicious nonetheless. It's just that it's a bit salty to me. The set nasi sotong was okay. We ordered sambal healing which is the least spicy of all sambals. Somewhat sweet but more like a hint like that. Sirap ais limau was sweeter than I expected but acceptable. Overall, it's a cozy place to enjoy meals. But.. to me they're a bit pricey. Maybe I'm just poor hahaha.

I'm a regular at Sambal Bakar Malaya's main branch in KL, so I was pretty excited to check out their new spot in Puncak Alam. First off, the crowd was wild—tons of people lining up to order. But the space here is much bigger than their main branch, so at least this new branch can handle the crowd. Now, on to the service—way too slow. The table next to mine got called three times to pick up their food, but it still wasn’t ready. The staff kept calling the wrong numbers, three times in a row. Aiyo. And they asked for my table number four times just to deliver drinks but still seemed lost on where to go. On the bright side, the food is delicious, just as good as their main branch. Although, it’s spicier here—not sure why. Will I come back? Yep, but I’ll stick to weekdays instead of weekends.

Better than any restaurant Geprek, Gembus, Penyet version. At least this restaurant gave a correct version. Some restaurants gave you a piece of vegetable leaves, a finger of tempe and a slice of cucumber

Sambal Bakar Malaya offers a satisfying dining experience with a focus on sambal-based dishes. We tried the Indomie with squid, Indomie with chicken, and a nasi set with squid. Opting for the spiciest sambal, it delivered a balanced heat that was flavorful but not overwhelming, allowing us to enjoy the food without constantly reaching for water. The food and pricing were reasonable, but what stood out was the superb service—attentive and friendly staff ensured a pleasant visit. While the sambal could be spicier for those seeking a fiery kick, the overall experience makes it worth a try.

Are you a spicy food lover? If yes, this is the place to come and indulge in. There's types of sambal with spicy levels that you can use. And my personal favorite is sambal gempuk. Have tried their chicken sotonG and kambing, all sedap. And about the service, all the staffs are toooo friendly and never once I saw them without a smile. As well the owner of the shop, very humble to serve food when the time is busy. Will repeat again and again

The service is friendly, the food is also delicious, the chicken is tender, the chili sauce is really good (like tomato chili sauce) but even though the chili sauce is explosive, it depends on your taste, some people find it spicy, some don't, there is also soup that you can take yourself, MUST TRY
